The Eastern Caribbean Search and Rescue Agreement

.The SAR Agreement is a  Memorandum of Understanding on Search and Rescue (SAR)  Piarco Search and Rescue Regions (SRR) and is intended to-.

a) recognize the importance of co-operation in SAR, and provision of expeditious and effective SAR services;

b) support international principles set forth in the Convention on International Civil Aviation, 1944, and other pertinent International instruments which relate to SAR

c) provide an overall SAR plan for co-ordination of SAR efforts, and for effective use of all available SAR resources within the Piarco Search and Rescue Region;

d) guide and promote co-operation among the Parties to the Agreement, and with others who may help to improve safety or respond to persons in distress; and

e) set forth basic SAR policies and procedures for SAR operations, and for co-ordination of SAR missions.
